FIRTH VIEW BED AND BREAKFAST - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

What you need to know about staying at Firth View

When you book your accommodation with us, you enter into a legally binding contract with Firth View Bed and Breakfast, subject to the Terms and Conditions set out below.  It is in your own interest to read them carefully.

Rooms Policy

There is a strict No Smoking or Vaping Policy in ALL Rooms at Firth View Bed and Breakfast, including communal areas. You may smoke in the garden and a sand bucket is provided for stubbing and disposal of cigarette ends.

Food must not be consumed in bedrooms other than refreshments provided on hospitality trays. However, we are happy to provide the necessary cutlery/crockery for you to eat takeaway meals in the guest lounge.

Contravening these conditions will incur a cleaning charge of £50. Our future guests will expect the same level of cleanliness you found on your arrival. 

 

Prices
Firth View Bed and Breakfast publishes its tariff every year in December. This is a guide to the price of a room by season, including breakfast, and is subject to change. However, changes will not affect bookings already confirmed.
 

 

Rooms are generally bookable for a two-night minimum stay in high season (July and August) and over Bank Holiday weekends.  A one-night stay during high season is subject to availability.  As guests come to Firth View for peace and quiet, we have an adults-only policy.

 

Bookings
In order to secure any booking, a deposit per room will be taken in advance. This deposit is the cost of one night’s Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the selected room/s. Deposits are only refundable for cancellation under the conditions set-out below.

 

A successful booking will be confirmed by an email from Firth View Bed and Breakfast or via our booking portal. We cannot accept bookings from anyone under the age of 18 years old.

 

Payments    
Your deposit payment may be made online via our booking portal or if you are booking direct, by electronic bank transfer or by using your credit/debit card.

 

Payment in full will be requested at the end of your stay. We are able to process payments via Visa, Mastercard, American express, BACs (bank transfer) or cash. We do not accept other cards or cheques at Firth View.  Terms and conditions for bookings made through Booking.com, or other online agents, may differ. Your payment is taken as your agreement to the Terms & Conditions which are legally binding.

 

Cancellation
Firth View Bed and Breakfast has a strict cancellation policy as we are a small concern and short notice cancellation has a huge impact on our business.

 

A full refund of any deposit paid will be granted for cancellation with more than 7 days’ notice. If less than 7 full days' notice is provided to cancel your booking, your deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. We advise guests to take out adequate insurance in case of any unforeseen circumstances resulting in last minute cancellations.  

Any cancellations or changes to a booking must be confirmed in writing by email. A booking can only be regarded as amended or cancelled upon receipt of our confirmation. Cancellations or amendments by phone cannot be guaranteed.

We reserve the right to claim 75% of the full cost of a booked stay for a no-show or a reduction to a booked stay on arrival unless the accommodation can be re-booked to another party.

We would only cancel your accommodation, either prior to or during your stay, due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (Force Majeure**). If it becomes necessary for us to cancel your booking, we will make every effort to arrange alternative local accommodation of a similar standard or we will provide a full refund of any monies paid. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

 

Wi-Fi Fair & Appropriate Usage Policy           
We offer free Wi-Fi Internet and guests agree to use this access to the Internet fairly and appropriately. We may monitor network performance and guest usage in order to maintain a fair and high level of service to all our visitors.

The Internet access provided is intended for general use such as web-browsing, email, messaging and social media. It is not intended or ideally suited for heavy media streaming, online gaming, extensive downloads/uploads.  We are in a rural location with a metered service and therefore limit your daily data access to 750Mb. We make these restrictions to ensure our guests at the end of the month have equal opportunity to access internet services. Any access made to illegal sites or use of our network for illegal activity is prohibited and will be reported to local authorities.

 

Disorderly Behaviour                
We reserve the right to terminate accommodation without liability and at any time, if the behaviour or conduct of guests is deemed to be unacceptable or offensive to ourselves as proprietors, or to other guests, or if the terms or conditions of this contract are broken.

Damages, Keys and Lost Property
We reserve the right to charge the lead guest for any damage caused during a stay by any member of the booking party. This includes breakages, spillages, stains, damage to furniture or fixtures and fittings. Any accidental damages should be reported as soon as possible in order to minimise damage and associated costs. Your room and front door keys remain your responsibility during your stay. Lost keys will incur a replacement charge of £20 per key.

 

Any property left behind by guests after a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to make contact and reunite found property with its owner, we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belongings with them before checking-out. We may offer to post lost items via recorded delivery at the cost of the property owner, otherwise collection can be arranged.

 

Liability

Firth View Bed and Breakfast does not accept liability for any damage, loss, or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our contractors. This clause does not attempt to exclude negligence or breach of statutory duty.

 

We would appreciate prompt notification of any issues with your accommodation, so that appropriate remedial action can be taken. We cannot accept liability in relation to any shortcomings or claims, of whatever nature, if you fail to notify us of any complaint or claim during your stay. 

Parking

We provide free on-site parking. By using this facility, guests accept that they park their vehicles at their own risk. We would ask you to be considerate of other users of the parking area and leave clear access to the rear of the property via the drive.

 

Animals

We do not accommodate pets, except for service dogs, for which we would appreciate prior notice, and which must not be left alone in the rooms at any time

Your Personal Details & Privacy

We are required to keep a register of all guests over the age of 16 who stay with us. This register includes full names and nationality for British, Irish or Commonwealth guests. For guests from other countries we will also record details of passport or ID card numbers, place of issue and details of your next destination. This is in accordance with the Immigration (Hotel records) Order 1972. These records are kept for a minimum of 12 months and in accordance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) 2018.

**  "Force Majeure Event" means any of the following events affecting multiple guests and multiple accommodations: Act-of-God, volcanic eruptions, (natural) disaster, fire, (acts of) war, hostilities or any local or national emergency, invasion, compliance with any order or request of any national, provincial, port or other public authority, government regulation or intervention, military action, civil war or terrorism, (biological, chemical or nuclear) explosion, rebellion, riots, insurrection strikes, civil disorder (or the material or substantial threat or justified apprehension of any of the foregoing events), curtailment of transportation facilities, close down of airports or any other exceptional and catastrophic event, circumstance or emergency, making it impossible, illegal or prevents guests from travelling to or staying at the accommodation.
